Wedesdays 7.30-8.30pm for beginners or improvers.
After a gentle warm-up to prepare your muscles and joints, we’ll do some isolation exercises to help with learning the dance moves. Next come the dance moves themselves, followed by dancing together, putting the new moves into practice. Lastly a few minutes of stretching to increase flexibility and prevent aches and strains.
With this style we learn a vocabulary of moves that are used to improvise dance, responding to the music and to each other. Think of it as similar to Jazz, where musicians learn technical skills but create spontaneous performance. We don’t learn choreographed pieces. For more information see the FAQ page here.
